Y'all's Request
A Southern boy's coming of age story. The 60's and 70's were a magical time all across America. In the Deep South we did most of the same things kids across the country were doing but with a Southern drawl. Tales of school, bikes, fishing, hunting, Christmases, and even snow skiing of all things, fill the Mason jar of memories to the brim! When you grow tired of laughing there's even a bit of poetry for the more introspective. I hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I did living them. Forrest Gump

A Mississippi story of a Southern boy’s coming of age. The author is a gifted storyteller with the ability to transport you back to another era. Relive your own childhood right here in the pages of this wonderful book. An account of a magical adolescent life lived in south Jackson neighborhoods and along the sands of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. If you ever jumped your Schwinn stingray over a sketchy wooden ramp, pored over the Sears Wish Book for hours on end, struggled with numerators and denominators, fished brackish bayous, and hunted in places where Walmarts, Whataburgers and Dollar Generals now stand, or spent summers at your Memaw's and Pawpaw's house then this is a book you'll relish. It is a veritable time machine that'll transport you back to when you were 12 and doing the same things as the author. You'll laugh a lot and maybe even cry a little. A real emotional journey told only as a southern storyteller can. It finishes with some poetry like an out of place fancy dessert after a BBQ dinner of pulled pork and baby back ribs but likewise leaves you wanting more.

About The Author
I currently reside on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I'm just an ordinary guy with ordinary but unique memories. I've lived a charmed life with great parents, great brothers and a perfect wife. I've collected and written these stories over the years with friends and family encouraging me to assemble them into a book and so here we are. The poetry just comes to me spontaneously and without warning and there's nothing I can do to stop it and I'm compelled to write it down. Some people have attacks of gout, I have poetry attacks. I hope you enjoyed reading these stories as much as I enjoyed living them.
